How to buy a painting
At KupObraz.pl you buy a painting directly from the artist. We help you get in touch: we answer your questions and reserve the painting once you decide.
Buying step by step
- Send an enquiryEvery painting has an “Ask about this painting” button. Your name and email are enough, and you can add a question right away. An enquiry is not a commitment.
- Get a replyWe reply within 2 working days and agree the details with you: price, shipping or collection, and timing.
- We reserve the painting for youOnce you decide, the painting is marked as “reserved” and is no longer offered to others. You and the artist receive each other’s contact details by email.
- Pay the artist and receive the paintingYou pay the artist directly, in the way you agree together. The artist ships the painting or you arrange to collect it in person.
Frequently asked questions
Who do I pay for the painting?
The artist, directly. The gallery does not charge buyers any fees, and the price shown is the price you pay the artist. Shipping may be added to it.
How much does shipping cost?
The artist arranges shipping, and the cost depends on the size of the painting and where it is going. Tell us in your enquiry where the painting should be delivered (a city and postcode are enough) and we will give you the shipping cost before the reservation. There is no shipping when you collect in person.
Can I collect the painting in person?
Yes, if the artist lives near you or you can meet. You will find the artist’s city on their profile. When you collect in person, you can see the painting with your own eyes.
Will I get a certificate of authenticity?
The artist can issue a certificate. Ask about it in your enquiry and we will pass the request on.
Does the painting look like the photos?
We look at every photo before it is published and ask artists for photos in daylight, without filters. Colours can still vary slightly between screens. If you like, we will ask the artist for extra photos or a short video. You can check the size in the “On the wall” preview on every work.
Can I return the painting?
It depends on who is selling. Every painting shows whether the artist sells as a business or as a private person. When a business sells, you have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. When a private person sells, these rules do not apply, so it is best to ask about returns before you buy.
Is the painting ready to hang?
It depends on the work: some paintings have a frame or a hanger, some do not. The medium, size and support are in the description, and you can ask about anything else in your enquiry.
Will the artist paint a commission?
The artist’s profile shows whether they accept commissions. If they do, you will find an “Ask about a commission” button there. Describe what you have in mind (subject, size, budget) and we will pass it on to the artist. On a sold painting by such an artist you will also see an “Ask about a similar painting” button.
